The College’s Sports department has once again taken the first spot in Association of Colleges (AoC) Sport Championship Table for the 2024–25 academic year for the second year running, earning the title for number one college in the country for sports.

The AoC Sport Championship Table is a national ranking system based on points accumulated across a wide range of inter-college sports competitions throughout the academic year. Thanks to our Sports Academies consistent top-level performances and double victories at the AoC Sport Awards, the College topped the table, with a staggering 192 points overall.

Elite Sport Manager at Loughborough College, Dan Jackson said: “This ranking isn’t based on just one sport or one competition, but is about all-round sporting excellence.

“To be crowned number one for a second consecutive year is a fantastic reflection of the talent, commitment, and professionalism of our students and staff. We are incredibly proud of every individual who contributed to this incredible achievement.”

Throughout the academic year, Sports Academy students dominated in multiple disciplines, claiming regional titles and national championships across football, rugby, basketball, netball, and athletics. This multi-sport success is a testament to the College’s dedicated coaching staff and holistic student-athlete development approach which supports academic success alongside sporting excellence.

Dan continued: “We pride ourselves on delivering high-level coaching, academic support, and access to some of the best facilities in the country. With the ongoing developments across campus and our growing regional, national, and international partnerships continuing to grow, there is lots to look forward to for next year’s competition and beyond!”
